Welcome to

What Happens Now?
- The first step aftert he death of a loved one, after you have notified the immediate family, is to call your funeral director. We will be able to determine what time frames are possible depending upon several factors including newspaper deadlines, your family’s whereabouts, and the general type of funeral services you have in mind. Upcoming holidays or events that may interfere, for instance; religious days or times, churches or cemeteries are not available. A tentative time is important to whomever you notify because they will need to know in order to make plans to be there, whether it is for travel or time off from work.
- The second step is to set up a time to meet with us to discuss your arrangements. Whether preneed plans have been made or not, a few decisions will need to be made at this time. Embalming permission may be necessary if public viewing or a flight for your loved one is needed. Dentures should be made available or remain with the deceased in order to complete the initial preparations. You may also be asked if a post-mortem exam should be done or you wish to allow a donation to tissue or organ services. These requests may come from the hospital staff, police, the medical examiner’s office or other professionals. These may be difficult decisions, but are a must prior to the release of the loved one to us.
- The third step is to meet with your funeral director. At least one fairly recent photo should be brought to the arrangements. Several photos may be used for newspaper and internet notifications. These can depict different times in their lives and can include other family members. Remember you’re about to tell a very important story and should be prepared to give detailed facts including family, civic and employment history. You should also bring a full set of clothing to be used and important papers like a military discharge, a cemetery deed and insurance policies if available. You may not have all the answers needed at this time, but you will leave with at least knowing all the right questions.
We have been serving the community since 1953 and will continue to do so today. Thank you for trusting our firm to care for your family.
With kindest personal regards,
