John B. Schaap

John B. Schaap passed away surrounded by his family at Francis House on December 5, 2018, at the age of 74.
John is survived by his five children: John B. (Sheryl) Schaap Jr., Michael Schaap, Paul (Kristen) Schaap, and their mother, Anna Marie Schaap, Casey L. (Chad) Morey and Jacqueline V. (Richard) Townsend and their mother, Cynthia Schaap; his sister, Beverly (Schaap) Downing; along with seven grandchildren: James, Brooke, Micky, Cally, Cadee, Richard and Chase.
John was a resident of Central New York for his entire life. He was a graduate of North Syracuse High School as well as an attendee of Syracuse University. He was an avid golfer and belonged to several golf clubs in the area such as Beaver Meadows and McConnellsville. John was a business owner, master craftsman and cabinet maker by trade who was fondly known as the “Big Guy”.

Calling Hours will be held from 4 to 7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home in Mattydale on Friday, December 14th, as we celebrate his life and memory.
