Michelina Carr

November 19, 1934 — February 10, 2019

Michelina Carr, 84, of Mattydale, died Sunday, February 10th, 2019. Michelina was a native of Ferrazzano, Italy, born to the late Angelo V. and Maria G. (Mucci) Gianfelice. She resided in Syracuse before moving to the Mattydale area in 1969 and maintained a summer home in Seminole, FL, for over 20 years until 2015.

Michelina retired in the mid 1980’s after working as a dress maker for E. Cramer & Son in Dewitt. Prior to that, she worked at Edwards Department Store in Syracuse and C.E. Chappell’s & Sons in Northern Lights. Michelina spent as much time as possible looking after her family and enjoying her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church.

Michelina was predeceased by her siblings, Antonio and Rosina.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Anthony Carr; their three sons: Enzo (Heidi) Carr of Onondaga Hill, Robert Carr of Rochester, and Carmen (Tammi) Carr of Chittenango; a sister, Giuseppina Ruggieri of Campobasso, Italy; and her five grandchildren: Vincenzo, Carmela, Angelo, Christian, and Luca.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer Services will begin on Friday, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
