Some of the fondest memories of my high school days involve time at the Rice's. I was very much at home there and was treated as a family member (though I recall Karen thinking that the things I did her parents thought funny she could never get away with...)! I even remember going to buy a car with them and sitting in on the finances while neither of the girls were there! Why, I really have no idea, other than I was just there and included. Mrs. Rice and I shared stories and even confidences. She will be remembered by me as someone who made a difference in my life and who holds a very special place in my heart!

Mrs. Rice, as we called her then, was my 1st grade teacher at Nate Perry Elementary. I am 56 years old and still remember her as a warm, caring teacher. I also recall her class as where reading became a part of my life with the 'see Spot run' series of books that were used then. My condolences to the entire family.

One of favorite teachers during my school years, I would often visit Mrs. Rice during recess in my later years at Nate Perry. I was lucky enough to be able to speak with her a few years ago when I ran into her while working. A wonderful teacher and an even better person. My sincere condolences.
