Tammy Humiston

August 3, 1960 — November 27, 2019

Tammy Humiston (Dupra), 59, of North Syracuse, has passed away after an inspirational battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. She was a lifelong member of the North Syracuse community and spent the last 22 years lovingly transporting children as a North Syracuse School Bus Driver. Her legacy will live on through all of the students she helped to shape as well as through her family.

She is survived by her father, Thomas Humiston; daughter, Trista Rosen; son-in-law, Jeff Rosen; son, Art M. Dupra; daughter-in-law, Lisa Dupra; son, Chad Dupra; daughter-in-law, Marissa Hamilton; step daughter, Heather Caiati; son-in-law, Antonio Caiati; 9 beautiful grand-children: Kameron, Holly, Lillian, Dylan, Sophia, Madelynn, Isabella, Stella, and Logan; sisters: Tracie LaRue, June Perkins (Lyndon), Betty Jane; and brothers: Charles Pisik (Niki) and David Humiston (Denise); along with so many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends.

Tammy was predeceased by her mother, Edith Pisik, her step father, Charles Pisik, brother, Tommy Humiston, and by the father of her children, Art W. Dupra

Tammy always wanted to be a teacher and was able to accomplish that goal by being a bus driver. She loved the outdoors, gardening, running in the rain, singing (however off key), and making people laugh with corny jokes. One of her fondest memories was of a lunch at Phoebes where an elderly woman was sitting outside in a wheelchair waiting for her transport and Tammy smiled and made goofy faces until this woman’s sad face turned into a beaming smile. Second only to her joy of being a mother, was her joy of making other people feel good. Tammy could often be heard telling people it was her birthday even when it wasn’t because she thought you couldn’t have a bad day if it was your birthday. She left so many good memories and wants people to continue laughing with her. She also wishes you all Enough…enough laughter, enough smiles, enough love, and enough memories to get through until you see her again. Please plant a flower, a garden, or a tree and you can visit Tammy there.

Special thank you to the amazing people at Hospice of CNY who gave Mom her life back and the people at Francis House who lovingly helped and cared for Mom in a way that we could not.
