Obituary

Edward "Eddie" H. Menasian, 94, formerly of Liverpool, has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 29th, 2020 at Bishop Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Syracuse. Eddie was born in Richland and was a life resident of the Syracuse and Eastwood Area before settling at Park Rose Estates in 2002. He was the son of the late John and Irene Menasian, survivors of the Armenian Genocide.

Eddie was a graduate of Eastwood High School and a US Army veteran serving in World War II. He retired after 30 years working at the City of Syracuse D.O.T. Eddie enjoyed bowling at the Eastwood Bowling Center. He lovingly taught his nieces and nephews to fish and took pride in beautifying outdoor spaces. Eddie had a lifelong love for music, playing several instruments, singing in the choir, and listening to Army tunes. Eddie was a member of the Armenian Church Youth Organization through his parish, St. Paul Armenian Church in Syracuse. He served on the Parish Council, sang with his heart and soul in the choir, enthusiastically volunteered during church functions as well as in maintenance of the church. Eddie had a sweet natured sense of humor and loved putting a smile on people’s faces.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was predeceased by his sisters, Searvart Menasian Chengerian, Rose Menasian Lowe and his niece, Nancy Lowe.

Edward is survived by several nieces and nephews including William Lowe, Shirley Perperian, Robert Chengerian, Judy (Charles) Koolakian, Richard (Judith) Chengerian, and Cathy (Gene) Brummer; and several great nieces and nephews.

Donations in Eddie’s memory may be made to Armenian Eye Care Project online at www.eyecareproject.com or to St. Paul Armenian Church.

Friends may call on Monday from 10:30 – 11:30 am at St. Paul Armenian Church, 310 North Geddes St., Syracuse, NY 13204, with a Service beginning at 11:30 am. Face coverings will be required, and CDC & NYS Dept. of Health guidelines will be enforced. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse.
