Vickie S. Brooks

December 13, 1947 — May 23, 2021

Vickie S. Brooks, 73, of Centerville Court in North Syracuse, passed away Sunday, May 23rd. Born to the late John and Edith Graboski, Vickie was a native of Lakeport and graduated from Chittenango High School in 1965. She resided in the Mattydale and North Syracuse area for over 40 years, 20 of which were on Malden Road.

Vickie worked at Learbury’s for several years, Phillips Co., and the bakery at Peter’s Grocery. She was a life member, past Vice President, and member of the Board of Directors for the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department. Vickie enjoyed playing Bunko with her friends, crocheting and frequenting the casino to play bingo. She also provided childcare at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church on Sundays.

She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Bill Brooks and four siblings: Linda Curtis Weaver, Charlene Blasier, Jeannine Sutkus and Kenneth Curtis.

Vickie is survived by two children: John Brooks of Mattydale and Caroline (Matt) Sherlock of Baldwinsville; a brother, Robert Curtis of Mattydale; two grandchildren: Adam and Sarah (Robert); Nana to Amare, Laylani, Nayeli, Kayliani and Karter and many of the children she was special to.

Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a Service following at 7:00 pm.
