Dorinne Hicks

Dorinne Hicks, 79, lifelong resident of Mattydale, passed away Friday, February 18th, 2022. Dorinne was the daughter of the late Edward and Ida (Applebee) McConnell and a 1961 graduate of North Syracuse High School.
She retired in 2004 after 40 years as an office manager for Business Records Corporation in East Syracuse.

Dorinne was an accomplished artist who loved drawing and bird watching. In her youth, she enjoyed riding motorcycles, skiing and playing golf. Dorinne also spent a great deal of time camping at Brennan’s Beach and was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Jim and Chuck McConnell.

Dorinne is survived by her husband of 35 years, Carder Hicks; two children, Christopher (Kelly) Benz of Mattydale and Nancy (Tony) Mattiacio of Rochester; a twin brother, Edward (Kathy) McConnell of Rochester; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 -7:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Services will be private and burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery.
