Abram N. Allen, 75, of Lake St. in Sandy Creek, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Abe was born in Ellisburg and resided in the Sandy Creek area for most of his life. He was the son of the late Abram and Eva Allen and a 1961 graduate of Sandy Creek High School.
Abe retired in 1991 after more than 20 years as a truck driver for various companies in the North Country. He enjoyed refurbishing and showing antique pump and engines at several County and State Fairs. Abe liked the great outdoors and enjoyed family camping trips. He volunteered at the North Country Church Soup Kitchen in Lacona and was a member of the Carpenter's Shop in Sandy Creek.
Abe was predeceased by a brother, Dell, in 2002 and by his son, Andrew Minota, in 2017.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, the former Ruth Rae (Killam); five children: Patrick Allen of FL, Yvonne (Wade) Brown of Lacona, Tina (John) Gibbs of Sandy Creek, John (Lynette) Allen of Mannsville, and Elizabeth (Brian) Burnett of Mattydale; his adopted daughter, Angela (Nathan) Dunham of Pulaski; two sisters: Carolyn Briggs of Syracuse and Isabell Dodemead of Auburn; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Minota of West Monroe; his father-in-law, John "Jack" Killam of Sandy Creek; and by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Saturday, January 20th, from 11 am - 12 pm. Services are Saturday, 12 pm, at Sandy Creek First Baptist Church, 1984 Harwood Drive, Sandy Creek. A gathering will follow after services.
