John "Jack" L. Angello, Jr., 71, of Campbell Road in Mattydale, died Thursday at Community General Hospital. John was a life resident of Mattydale and the son of the late Lyla V. Booth and John L. Angello, Sr.
He was a 1956 graduate of North Syracuse High School. Jack retired in December of 2000 after 43 years as a clerk then a stock controller for Martin Marietta and its predecessors General Electric and Lockheed Martin. Since then, he worked at Ra-Lin of Syracuse and Byrne Dairy in Mattydale for several years. Jack and his father co-founded the Mattydale Pop Warner Football League and coached for many years. He also attended Calvary United Methodist Church.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Michele "Shelly" Angello, in 1973.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, the former Madeline "Midge" McRobbie; a daughter: Kristin Angello-Mayfield of Mattydale; one sister: Arlene Angello of Marcellus; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday from 1-4 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Services are Monday, 11 am at the funeral home followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Contributions may be made to Sunshine Friends Inc., PO Box 6936, Syracuse NY 13217.
