Hulda Bader

Hulda S. Bader, 94, of Campbell Rd., Mattydale, went to be with her Lord and her beloved husband Erwin on her 94th birthday at St. Joseph?s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Madison WI, Hulda was the daughter of the late Henry and Ottilie Scherfling. She was a 1931 graduate of Minoa High School and resided in Mattydale since 1935. She retired in 1986 after many years as a secretary for Dr.?s Pozzi and Popoff in Mattydale. Prior to that she worked for Unger?s Department Store and the General Electric Co. for several years.
Hulda was a life member and past president of the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary with 70 years of service to the community, a past president of the LAOCVFA and a member of the LAFASNY. She was a devout and long time member of the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in North Syracuse and a member of its quilting group. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #185 and the Greater Mattydale-Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Erwin ?Ernie? J. Bader in 1986 and her siblings Albert, Alvin, Edward and Frieda. Surviving are two sons Richard ?Dick? E. Bobbi Bader of Central Square, David H. Barbara Bader of Cleveland OH, three daughters Lois E. Walker of Raleigh, NC, Sharon A. Larry Putman of Cicero, Marilyn E. Larry Colenzo of N. Syracuse, 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Services will be 11 am Wednesday at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday at the Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt. Contributions may be made to the Luther Memorial Capital Improvement Fund 435 S. Main St. N.
