J. Barton

J. Wayne Barton, 70, of Stinson Street in Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday. Wayne grew up in the Utica area and resided in Syracuse for the past 45 years. He spent the past 8 summers in Constantia.
Wayne was a 1958 graduate of New York Mills High and served in the US Marine Corps. He owned and operated Barton's Alley, working in the bar and restaurant business for over 20 years. Wayne went on to work in car sales for over 26 years, most recently at Crest Cadillac in Syracuse. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Blessed Sacrament Golf League, and attended St. Bernadette's Church in Constantia.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, the former Mary Muhl; his mother: May Hale Barton; two daughters: Rennay Gary Barton-Schwartz of Albany, and Jennifer Harris of Providence, RI; a son: Glen Barton of Syracuse; his brother: Paul Karen Barton of Syracuse; and his dogs: Kacee Sunshine and Teddy Berry.
All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Contributions in Wayne's memory may be made to St. Bernadette's Church, 1667 State Route 49, Constantia NY 13044.
