Minnie M. Beck

Minnie M. Beck, 96, of Florida Road in Mattydale, passed away Sunday, November 7th at Crouse Hospital. Born and raised in Baldwinsville to the late Charles and Daisy (Knowlton) Corgnell, Minnie resided in Mattydale since 1954.

Minnie retired in 1991 after 25 years as a hand leather cutter for McMillan Book Company in Syracuse. She then worked as an Elderly Home Care assistant for several years. Minnie was a long time member of Malden Road United Church of Christ where she was a former Deacon and member of their choir for over 20 years. Minnie was also an accomplished oil painting artist.

She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, John Beck, in 1982, a daughter, Janet Reynolds in 2017, and a son Gary Beck in 1969.

Minnie is survived by her five children: John Beck Jr. of California, David Beck of Port Charlotte, FL, Cathy Beck of Mattydale, Terry Beck of Mattydale, and Cindy (Eddie) Ryan of Clay; a brother, David Corgnell of Oklahoma; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Contributions in Minnie’s memory may be made to Malden Road United Church of Christ, 108 Malden Rd., Mattydale, NY 13211.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a Funeral Services following at 7:00 pm.
