Regina "Reggie" Beck, 75, of Syracuse, died peacefully on Saturday at the Francis House after a brief struggle with lung cancer.
Graduating from North High, Reggie resided in Mattydale and on the North Side of Syracuse for 30 years before moving to Eastwood. She retired in 2002 from the Onondaga County Department of Social Services as a Medicaid Caseworker. Regina is past president of the Mattydale American Legion Post #1832 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler, bowling on several leagues throughout the years and she played softball for several years in Syracuse.
Reggie is pre-deceased by her husband Tony Beck in 2000. She is survived by her three daughters Toni Spiro Engram , of Chattanooga, TN, Lori John Barnes, of Jacksonville, FL, and Andrea Andrew Sgarlata, of E. Syracuse; three sons Anton Beck Jr., of Clay, Karl Diana Beck of Central Square, and John Kristen Beck of Clay; two brothers Ronald Birchler, of Venice, FL and John Tierney, of Liverpool; sister-in-law Nancy Birchler, of FL; seven grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be privately held by Reggie's family.
