Stephanie Bielec

April 25, 1959 — March 6, 2016

Stephanie K. Bielec, 56, passed away Sunday, March 6, at home. Stephanie was born in Middletown, NY, and resided in Syracuse prior to moving to Pennellville 20 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Stephen King Smith and Margaret (Reilly) Bush.

Steph was an amazing mother, an awesome cook and baker, and an avid crocheter. She was a thoughtful companion and loving caregiver to her soul mate, John, throughout his illness until he passed away. Steph was a dachshund breeder and lover for the past 9 years and a member of the Kennel Club in Phoenix. Ever the animal lover, Stephanie also enjoyed feeding the birds. She was a former communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale.

Steph was predeceased by her soul mate of 20 years, John Wooding, Sr., in 2014.

Surviving are her children: Brianna (Clayton Winters) Bielec, Tommy Bielec, Jessica Goodenough, all of Syracuse, Jill (Josh Cox) Wooding of Cuyler, John (Destiny) Wooding of FL, Jonathan (Mackenzie) Wooding , and Portia Kritchbaum, both of North Syracuse; her step-father, David Bush; two sisters, a brother, several grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Contributions in Stephanie's memory may be made to the Continental Kennel Club in Phoenix, NY.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-6 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a 6 pm service following. Spring burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
