Edward F. Black, 61, of Madison, TN and formerly of Mattydale, passed away on Monday October 19, 2009. He was a native of Syracuse and had resided here for most of his life before moving out to Tennessee.
Edward had attended St. Margaret's School and graduated from Assumption High School. He also attended St. Gregory's College in Oklahoma and SUNY Brockport in Rochester, NY. Edward most recently worked for The Kirby Company in Tennessee; prior to that he had worked at Lockheed Martin in Syracuse. He had a passion for his dog, Fearless and his cat, George. Edward enjoyed feeding the birds, listening to music, collecting M & M characters, and traveling, especially when he was coming home for Christmas to spend time with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Edward N. Black, and by his loving dog, Fearless.
Surviving are his wife: the former Mavis Meadows of TN; his mother: Barbara L. Black of Mattydale; a brother: Neil Rosie Black of Brandon, FL; his three sisters: Kathy Ed Smith Raymo of Wildwood, FL, Ann Albert Pitts of North Syracuse and Susan Dean Wendt of Mattydale; three step-children: Will Angie Moore of AL, David Meadows of CA, and Wendy Matthew Valenzuela of MT; his eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles; and his beloved cat, George.
