Alice M. Bloom, 92, of Pitcher Hill Apartments, passed away Thursday, May 5th at Bishop Rehab and Nursing Home in Syracuse. Alice grew up in the Syracuse area and resided in Mattydale for 40 years before moving to Pitcher Hill in 1999. She attended St. Vincent’s Orphanage and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Honor (Ludgate) Bloom.
Alice retired in 1992 after 46 years as a packer for Borden's Ice Cream Company and the former Best Ice Cream in Syracuse. She enjoyed playing Bunco with her friends. Alice was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church and a former member of their Socialites.
Alice is survived by her two nieces, Kathy Irwin of Mattydale and Mary Moore of Liverpool; several great nieces and nephews including: Jeremy Irwin, Erin Case, Scott Moore, Christopher and James Besaw.
Friends may call on Sunday, May 15th, from 2:00 -5:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer Services will begin on Monday, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church, 200 Roxboro Rd., Mattydale. Burial will be in Collamer Cemetery.
