Elizabeth “Betty” J. Boisseau, 96, longtime resident of North Syracuse, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019, at her home. Betty was born and raised in Oswego, the daughter of the late Edgar and Nancy (Linhard) Shackleton. She graduated from Oswego High School class of 1941 and in 1945 received her Bachelors’ Degree in Teaching from Oswego Teachers College.
Betty retired in 1984 after more than 25 years as a teacher in several districts thoughout New York before finishing her career at Gillette Road Middle School. She was a 65 year member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in North Syracuse where she was very active with the development and operation of it’s Sunday School. She also served as a visiting deacon on the Prayer Chain and the Martha and Rebecca Circles and taught confirmation classes.
Betty was predeceased by her husband of 24 years, Charles H. Boisseau in 1975, an infant son, Robert J. Boisseau in 1952, a son, Edward N. Boisseau in 2014 and by her grandson, Christopher in 1982.
Betty is survived by her three daughters: Nancy (Len) Boisseau, Barbara Kirsch, and Shirley Hubbard, all of North Syracuse; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Boisseau of North Carolina; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.

Friends may call on Sunday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, 10:00 am, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. Burial will be at 2:00 pm in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.
