Charles Borys

Charles S. Borys, 78, of 110 Medford Rd. Mattydale died Wednesday at the Lutheran Home in Clinton. A native of Syracuse Mr. Borys resided in Mattydale since 1948. He was a Naval Veteran of WWII and served in the Atlantic Theater aboard a PT Boat. After the war he served with the Marine Corps Reserves for several years.
Chuck retired in 1989 after 35 years as a Patternmaker at the Crouse Hinds Co. in Syracuse.
He was a communicant of St. Margaret?s RC Church and a member of the American Legion Post # 1832 both in Mattydale. He was an avid gofer and played often at many area golf courses including Wildwood, Winoa and Arrowhead.
Charles was predeceased by his wife of 57 years the former Nadine Rubado May 24. He was survived by 2 sons Charles Sandy Borys of Sherrill, Gregory Julie Borys of Bridgeport, 2 sisters Helen Slifka of Syracuse, Jenny Mazer of Syracuse, 5 grandchildren Charles, Amy Beth, Nathaniel, Jessica and Michael.
Services will be at 8:00 am Saturday at the Krueger Funeral Home and 8:30 am in St. Margaret?s RC Church, Mattydale. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, NY 13211.
