Evelyn Bruno

Evelyn Sorrell Bruno, 98, longtime resident of Mattydale and Liverpool, died Wednesday at Crouse Irving Hospital. A native of Altona, NY, Evelyn was the daughter of the late John and Mary LaValley Sorrell.
She was a graduate of the Beau Art School of Hairdressing in Syracuse and worked as a self employed beautician in Liverpool for 34 years before retiring. Evelyn was a life member of the Mattydale Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the former director of the District #4 Hairdressers Association serving North Syracuse, Utica, and Rome. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Liverpool.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Rocci Bruno, in 1997.
Surviving are her sister: Belva Collins of Plattsburgh, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3-5 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Funeral services will begin Monday, 9:30am at the funeral home followed by entombment in Woodlawn Mausoleum, Syracuse. Contributions in Evelyn's memory may be made to Mattydale Volunteer Fire Dept.
