Marguerite K. Bruno, 97, longtime resident of Mattydale, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at St. John's Greenhouse Homes in Penfield, NY. Born and raised in Mattydale, Marguerite was a graduate of Vocational High School and was the daughter of the late Albert and Aurelia (DePan) Kurtz. She resided in Mattydale for 92 years before moving to Penfield five years ago to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.
Marguerite retired after many years as a retail clerk for several area department stores in the Syracuse area including Dey Brothers, Sibley's, and Kaufmann's. She was known for her master lingerie fitting skills for the stores and was a former member of the Salina Civic Seniors.
In addition to her parents, Marguerite was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses: Albert (Ida) Kurtz, Betty (Bob) Chapman, Dorothea (Paul) Payette, Eddie (Marion) Kurtz, Elizabeth "Lolly" Kurtz and Harold McLaughlin.
Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Elnora (Calvin) Cooper of Rochester, NY; a sister, Aurelia "Tinka" McLaughlin of Manlius; a special niece and nephew, Peggy Millert and Tim Kurtz; and her very special friends: Shirley and George Rose and Hazel Carrick.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
