Erik W. Burnam, 40, of North Richland Hills, Texas, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 26th. A resident of Texas since January, Erik was born in Syracuse and grew up in Mattydale and Central Square where he attended Paul V. Moore High School with the class of 1995.
Erik worked as a cook at various restaurants in the Syracuse area for many years. He enjoyed cooking at home and was well known for his spaghetti sauce. Erik was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #1832 in Mattydale. He was a fan of the WWF and the NY Giants. Erik followed the band KISS as well as other concerts.
He was predeceased by his brother, Brian Burnam, in 2001.
Erik is survived by his parents, Debbie and Mike Krisher of Central Square; a sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Ted Martin of North Syracuse; two nephews, Samuel and Justin Martin; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and by his girlfriend, Jennifer Piscitelli and her children.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 200 Gateway Park Dr., Bldg C, Syracuse, NY 13212 include Team Scheuer in Memo line.
Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a 4:00 pm Funeral Service following. Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse, on Monday, at 11:00 am.
