Zella C. Callahan, 74, longtime resident of Oswego Road in Clay, passed away Sunday, December 6th at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. Zella was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Julia (Snook) Pepperman and attended Marcellus High School. She was known to be a very colorful person wearing tie dye clothing and sporting purple hair. Zella loved rug hooking, cross stitch, and doll collecting. She also enjoyed auto racing, SU sports, and keeping up with friends and family on Facebook. Zella was a former member of Marcellus United Methodist Church.
Zella is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Robert “Bob” Callahan; their two daughters, Susan Callahan of Clay and Diane Swind of Texas; two siblings, Judy Clemo of Arizona and William Pepperman of North Carolina; a grandson, Devin Swind of Texas; and by her fur babies, Addie and Kassie Lynn.
