Robert Carroll

Robert ?Bobby? F. Carroll, 75, of Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, died New Year?s Day at home with his family at his side. He was born in Syracuse, grew up in Eastwood and resided in Mattydale for most of his life. He was a Naval veteran, and retired in 1992 after 28 years as a Dispatcher for the Onondaga County Fire Control. After his retirement he owned and operated Soapy Sales for several years.
Bobby was a life member of the Mattydale Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the 3rd Ward Men?s Club in Mattydale. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed summers at Brennan?s Beach, winters in Cocoa Beach, FL, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife the former Shirley Dippold, a daughter Jennifer Tom Madeline, of Atlanta, GA, two sons Richard Mary Carroll, of Atlanta, GA, Daniel Carroll, of Denver, CO, a sister Suzanne Crowe, of Mattydale, a brother James Bessie Carroll, of Syracuse, four grandchildren, Grace, Aiden, Finnan Carroll and Gabrielle Madeline.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday at the Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral services will be 9:15 am Thursday at the funeral home and 10 am in St. Margaret?s RC Church. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in trust for Grace Carroll c/o Richard Carroll 3809 Kirkwood Rd. Kennesaw, GA 30144.
