Pauline Cerio, 84, long time resident of Brookfield Road in Mattydale, died Tuesday at home. Pauline was a native of Pittsburgh, PA, grew up on the North side of Syracuse and resided in Mattydale for the past 58 years. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Ann Mazzye Racculia and was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church. Pauline enjoyed the many friendships that she made at the Salina Civic Center. She was known to her friends for her eagerness to involve herself in all the important events of her friends' and relatives' lives.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Cerio, in 2006.
Surviving are her four children: Michael Rebecca of Carmel, IN, Frank Dawn of Clay, Paula Avi Barsheshat of Cicero, and Lucille Bean-Slade of Hurst, TX ; a sister: Angie Cupoli of Liverpool; her sisters and brother-in-law: Shirley, Mary and John; her four grandchildren: Shane, Marie, Bianca, and Genna; a great granddaughter, Madison; and several nieces and nephews.
She was well loved; her smile and voice will be missed by many.
Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A prayer service will begin on Saturday, 1:30 pm at the funeral home followed by a 2 pm Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret's Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum, Syracuse.
