Jennie Pestillo Ciarpelli, 85, of Mattydale died at St. Joseph?s Hospital after a long illness with her beloved family by her side.
A native of Solvay, Jennie graduated from Solvay High School and resided in Mattydale since 1946. She retired in 1984 after 18 years as a waitress at Caroma?s Restaurant. She also worked previously at WHEN-TV. She was a communicant of St. Margaret?s Church, volunteered as a Cub Scout leader and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, playing the piano, bowling, shopping and traveling.
She is survived by her husband Albert whom she was married to for 53 years, six children who will cherish her in memory, Bonnie Fischer of Mattydale, Albert Cynthia Ciarpelli and Paul Marcia Ciarpelli both of Cicero, Lorraine Michael Drake of Mattydale, Kathleen Max Carnley of Texas, Daniel Ciarpelli of Mattydale, three grandsons Ed Fischer, Dustin Carnley, Jonathan Ciarpelli, four granddaughters Melissa Ray Baker-Szymanoski, Jenny Carnley, Antonia Carnley, Jamie Lee Ciarpelli, on great granddaughter Morgan Szymanoski, a sister Fran Grago of Cortland several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am Saturday in St. Margaret?s Church. Friends may call from 3 to 7 pm Friday at the Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale.
