David E. Clary, 73, of Bridgeport, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017. David grew up in Liverpool and resided in the Bridgeport area for the past 27 years. He was the son of the late Donald and Eleanor (Emerson) Clary.
David was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War serving aboard the USS Franklyn D. Roosevelt. He retired in 2004 after 40 years as a welder with Carrier Corporation. David was a member of the American Legion Post #139 in East Syracuse and an avid bowler participating in multiple men's leagues in the Syracuse area. He enjoyed fishing on Oneida Lake and hunting in Upstate NY. David loved tinkering with his vehicles and was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Liverpool.
He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, the former Kay Washburn, in 2011 and by a brother, Steven.
David is survived by two daughters: Pamela (Robert Long) Clary of Baldwinsville and Lynn (Juha) Paljarvi of Fort Bragg, NC; a sister, Judith DeKing of Syracuse; his grandchildren: Aaron, MaKenna, Aili, and Aksel; and by three nieces.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, and will be followed by a Military Honor Salute.
