Colleen Corbett May, 68, of Syracuse, passed away in the early hours of Saturday at the Francis House. She was a lifelong resident of Syracuse and a graduate of Most Holy Rosary in 1973. Colleen always gave of herself throughout the course of her life career. She served children, individuals with special needs, and her family and friends. She was employed by Syracuse Savings Bank, Syracuse Catholic Diocese, St. Margaret’s School, Catholic Charities, and Toomey Residential.
Colleen is predeceased by her parents William “Ty” and Martha Jeanne Corbett and her sisters: Martha "Jeanne" (Paul) Lumia, Patricia Lee Corbett, Carol Ann Honors and her infant son, William Charles May.
Surviving are her two daughters, Maggie May Sayre of Camillus and Katie May (Ben) Carkey of Syracuse; a sister, Mary (Jim) Coates of Camillus; a brother, Daniel Corbett of Virginia; a brother-in-law Daniel Honors of Syracuse; 4 beloved grandchildren, Everett (8), Tallula (5), Remington (4) and Claribel (2); her life partner, Patrick Ficcaro of Syracuse; and several cherished nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 3:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A prayer service will begin Thursday, 9:15 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church at 10:00 am. Private Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
