Connie F. Stassi

Heaven has another angel. Connie Stassi, 96, long time resident of Mattydale, passed away Friday, September 20th, peacefully with her family by her side. Connie was a native of the Syracuse area and resided in Mattydale for 64 years. She attended Prescott School and then worked at Lype Rollway before getting married.

 After raising seven children, she opened her own business, Connie’s Deli, on North Salina Street then later Connie’s Creations in Liverpool. She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary society, an adult advisor for the CYO, a member of the First human Development Group, operated the kitchen on Bingo nights and worked the Friday Fish Fry. 

 Connie has gone to join her loving husband, John, of 62 years, her parents, August and Nancy Labruzzo, a brother, JR, and sisters, Mary, Antoinette, and Josephine.

 With love, Connie’s children send her into God’s hands. John, Mary Anne, Mark, Nancy, and Carol Stassi, Rose Hill, Josephine (Scott) Spears, and Jessica Zambrano who was like another daughter to her. She had 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call on Friday, September 27, from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:15 am at the funeral home followed by a 11:00 Mass at St. Margaret’s Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum, Syracuse.
