Constance Lee Garofalo

Constance “Connie” Lee Garofalo, 77, of Mattydale, passed away Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Langley Field, Virginia, Connie resided in Mattydale for the past 60 years.

She was the daughter of the late Starling and Audrey Menefee. Connie worked for several businesses in the Mattydale area for many years, but mostly enjoyed her time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her family remembers her as “the best mom” and “a good wife”. She was a fabulous host, crocheter, and advice-giver. She enjoyed trips to the casino and playing cards with her friends. 

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Joseph; three daughters; Wanda (Mark) Miller of Utah, Audrey (David Nelipowitz) Garofalo of Liverpool, and Deborah Ruhe of California; two sisters, Donna Hunt of Virginia and Wanda Withers of West Virginia; four grandchildren: Kaylynn, Angela, Willow and Mose; one great granddaughter, Alyana, and several nieces and nephews.  

Friends and family may call from 6 to 7 PM on Friday followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony at 7 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale.
