Yoshiko Cregg, 73, of North Syracuse, died Wednesday in Oneida. Yoshiko was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan before moving to the United States in 1976.
She worked at the Tokyo Hilton Hotel as a receptionist due to her fluency in speaking the English language. Yoshiko enjoyed the opera and playing bingo as well as her frequent trips to the Turning Stone Casino. She was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale.
Yoshiko was predeceased by her parents, Masani and Setsuko (Ikedo) Koshi, and by a sister, Kiyoi Yates.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas S. Cregg; their two children: Thomas K. Cregg of Columbus, OH and Margaret L. Cregg-Dydyk of Liverpool; several sisters and brothers in Japan and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, NY. Prayers will begin on Monday at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church, 203 Roxboro Rd., Mattydale, NY.
