Michael C. Daly, 64, of Liverpool, passed away Friday, May 3rd at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse. Born in Liverpool, England, Michael emigrated to the U.S. and became a naturalized citizen in order to join the US Navy. He served aboard the USS Sanctuary which was the first hospital ship with female recruits serving.
Michael retired in 2016 after more than 30 years as a machinist for Comfort Windows and Doors in Liverpool. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed his time on the Seneca River and Onondaga Lake. Michael enjoyed music and attending concerts; his favorite was classic rock.
He was predeceased by his parents, the late John and Monica Daly.
Michael is survived by his wife of 35 years, the former Brenda (Wing); seven children: Curtis (Sheridan) Knarr of Mattydale, Candace Knarr of North Syracuse, Pamela (Jason) Hartsell of Fayetteville, Norval Gaffey of West Monroe, Reagan Daly of Kentucky, Marie George of Mattydale, and Kyle (Tyffany) Daly of Kentucky; a sister, Lori Daly of Rochester; 18 grandchildren including his fishing buddy, David; and 3 great grandchildren with one due this Monday.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 pm with Military Honors.
