Gerald "Jerry" P. Davis, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 5th. Jerry was born in Syracuse, NY on February 7, 1953 to the late Harry C. and Anne (McDonald) Davis. He was a 1972 graduate of Jamesville-Dewitt High School and served in both the US Coast Guard and Navy serving in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm as a medic.
He worked for 16 years as a security guard at the MGM in Las Vegas before moving back to Syracuse to care for his parents in 2006. Since then, Jerry worked security at various locations most recently at Crouse Memorial Hospital. He loved the Syracuse Orangemen, was an avid sportsman, and especially loved the great outdoors.
Jerry is survived by two children, Shirley and James; a sister: Barbara (Ron) Christ of Syracuse; his brother, Patrick (Becky) Davis of Dayton, OH and his family: Bianca (Jon) Mecoli of Cleveland, OH, Justine (Brock) Baker and son, Olen, all of Millersburg, OH, and Sean Davis of Denver, CO; his cousins: Pamela (Vern) Lentz of Marcellus, Michael (Debbie) Krupa of Syracuse, Stephanie (Mitch) McHale of East Syracuse; and many special friends including Jim Loomis, Rick Kraszewski, Laurie TerAdest, and Ed Hosmer.
