Shirley Decker

February 6, 1937 — April 18, 2007

Shirley M. Cutting Decker, 70, of Lind Ave., Mattydale died on Wednesday at home. She grew up in Afton, NY and was the daughter of the late Clifford and Viola Cutting. She has resided in Mattydale since 1965.
Shirley retired in 1998 after 19 years at Hill Park Nursing Home as a Physical Therapist Aid. She also was an independent home health care provider for many years and has volunteered for the North Area Meals on Wheels.
She was predeceased by two brothers Clifford, Jr., and John Cutting. Surviving are her husband of 47 years Jerry Decker, three children and their spouses Susan James Quackenbush, of Liverpool, Barbara Richard Wagoner, of Cicero James Vicki Decker, of Hollis Center, ME, six sisters Bertha Theodore Banks, of Bainbridge, Phyllis Donald Niles, of Woodsboro, NC, Rose Frank Mazzeralla, of Sidney, Jo Ralph Shearer, of Afton, Florence John Strong, of Norwich, Elizabeth Fred Vroman, of Afton, four brothers Loren Diane Cutting, of Afton, Rev. Robert Joyce Cutting, of Lancaster, PA, Glenn Sharon Cutting, of Unadilla, Richard Shary of Cutting, Bainbridge, two sisters-in-law Phyllis Cutting of Binghamton, Shirley Cutting of Sidney, five grandchildren Kevin, Jason, and Lindsay Decker, Kimberly, and Brian Wagoner, two step-grandchildren Leah and Alison Ryan and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Friday at the Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Funeral services will be 9:45 am Saturday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Margaret?s. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Mausoleum. Contributions may be made to the North Area Meals on Wheels NAMOW 413 Church St. North Syracuse, NY 13212.
