Mary L. DeJohn, 87, died Saturday peacefully in her sleep at The Crossings Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Detroit, MI, Mary resided in and around the Syracuse area most of her life.
Mary attended Eastwood High School, worked as a salesperson at Catherine's Clothing Store in Syracuse and worked many years ago at the Army Ordinance. She enjoyed cooking, ceramics and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Albert. She is survived by her daughter: Linda Mark DeLosh; three sons: Albert DeJohn Jr., of North Syracuse, Robert Ellen DeJohn, of Cicero, Brian Joette DeJohn of Liverpool; her sister: Ruth Alfred Colasanti of Baldwinsville; 11 grandchildren: Teresa McLeod, Ron Hysick, Kathy Mace, Ellen Cicerelli, Laurie Gavin, Nichole Cady, Colleen DeJohn, Christine DeJohn, Albert DeJohn, Robert DeJohn and Brian DeJohn; 14 great grandchildren including Desiree and Devyn McLeod; and her two great great grandchildren: Madeline Rose and Davian Gage McLeod.
Friends may call Tuesday, 2 – 4pm and 7 – 9pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Prayer will be Wednesday, 11am at the funeral home followed by a 1pm church service at Mallory Wesleyan Church, 5 Baum Rd., Mallory. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, North Manlius.
