Josephine DelBalso

Josephine "Josie" L. DelBalso, 88, formerly of 110 McKinney Ave. in Mattydale, died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Josie was a native of Cortland and had resided in Mattydale for over 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Corsi.
Josie worked at several various retail stores as a clerk for many years including: Ben Franklin's Variety Store and W.T. Grants in Mattydale. Most recently she operated the snack bar and pro-shop for 15 years at Brooklawn Golf Course in DeWitt before retiring in 1981. Josie was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Gennaro "Jerry" DelBalso in 2001, her son, David DelBalso, and sister, Mary Miletta, both in 2007.
Surviving are her two children: Patricia John Coyne of Mattydale and Michael Patricia of Cicero; her daughter-in-law: Susan DelBalso, who was married to David, of Mattydale; a former daughter-in-law: Gloria DelBalso of North Syracuse; her sister: Nancy Pace of Cortland; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
Friends may call from 11am-1pm, Thursday at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1pm following calling hours. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Contributions in Josie's name may be made to the Mattydale Volunteer Fire Dept. Inc., 173 East Molloy Rd., Mattydale NY 13211.
