Pauline “Paula” Dennis, 94, of The Hearth at Greenpoint Manor in Liverpool, passed away Thursday, November 5, at Francis House Born in Syracuse, Paula was a graduate of Central High School who resided in Mattydale for 50 years before moving to Liverpool in 2013. In her youth, she modeled clothing for several department stores. Paula co-owned a ceramic shop for many years and loved to travel and plan trips. She had a camp on Oneida Lake where she enjoyed entertaining.
Paula retired as a foreman in the 1986 after 39 years at General Electric in Syracuse. She was a long-time member of the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #185 at Centerville Lodge in North Syracuse. Paula was also a member of Plank Road Senior Historical Society. Paula maintained her own apartment after becoming legally blind and met all the new residents to show them around the building. She was a longtime member and very active with Malden Road United Church of Christ in Mattydale.
Paula was predeceased by her mother, Rose Dennis. There are no known surviving relatives however she leaves behind many great friends and will be sorely missed.
Donations in Paula’s memory may be made to Hospice of CNY, Francis House or the Golisano Children’s Hospital.
Friends may call on Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a Funeral Service following at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery.
