James E. Denny, 81, who resided in Segdwick Heights, Syracuse for past three years died Friday at the VA Medical Center. A native of Ogdensburg Mr. Denny resided in Mattydale for 42 years before moving to Segdwick Heights.
He was an Army veteran and served during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #1832. He was a communicant of St. Margaret?s RC Church. Mr. Denny retired in 1990 after 11 years as a Patten Maker with the Crouse-Hinds Co.
He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years the former Louise LaRose Denny on August 6, 1994, and a son Richard in 1966.
Surviving are his children Jean Richard Davis of Pennellville, James Jr. Nancy Denny of Mattydale, a daughter-in-law Audrey Denny of Syracuse, seven grandchildren Douglas, Donald, Patrick, Dawn, James III, Jason and Shawna, a brother Arthur of Mattydale, two sisters Beatrice Hicks of Waddington, NY and Marie Gaines of Syracuse.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday at St. Margaret?s Church in Mattydale. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. The Krueger Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Parkinson?s disease Foundation, 710 West 168th St. New York, NY 10032.
