Janet K. Derrigo, 69, died peacefully at home Tuesday surrounded by her loving family after a two year courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Barnes Corners, NY, lived in Watertown for several years and had been a North Syracuse resident for the past 42 years. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Leva Glazier.
Janet earned her Associate Degree form the Watertown School of Business. She owned and operated Mickey's Balloons in North Syracuse since 1986. She enjoyed her pitch league, going to the casino and playing cards with the girls and John.
Janet is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Angelo "Mickey" Derrigo; her four daughters: Lyn Royle Miralles of Williamson, NY, Lisa Jack Currier of Virginia Beach, VA, Luanne Scott Richards of Liverpool, and Lorri Tom Blaylock of North Syracuse; her two sisters: Nadine Monroe of Minoa, and June Geiss of Ann Arbor, MI; and was a loving grandmother to Erica, Ryan, Anthony, Blake, Noel, Aidan, & Gavin.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Services will be held on Friday, 10am at the funeral home followed by burial in North Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North Street, Liverpool NY 13088.
