Lena DeSimone

Michaelena ?Lena? A. DeSimone, 90, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday at Birchwood Health Care Center. Lena was a native of Syracuse and was born to the late Joseph and Loretta Lupo. She formerly resided in the Mattydale area for 55 years before moving to Birchwood Health Care Center in 2003.
Lena co-owned and operated Pat?s Safeway Dry Cleaners for 30 years with her late husband, Patrick, who died in 1991. She was a member of the Mattydale Hinsdale Senior Citizens and enjoyed traveling with her husband. Lena was a communicant of St. Margaret?s Church, was a member of their Rosary Society and served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Surviving are her son, John Diana DeSimone, of Liverpool; her three grandchildren, Jeffrey Joanne DeSimone, of Dallas, TX, Melissa and Stephanie DeSimone, both of Tampa, FL; and her two great-grandchildren, Timothy and Samantha DeSimone.
Friends may call from 4-7pm Thursday at Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Prayer will be Friday at 9:00am at the funeral home followed by Mass at St. Margaret?s Church at 9:30am. Entombment will be at St. Mary?s Mausoleum, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Margaret?s Angel Fund, 203 Roxboro Road, Mattydale, NY 13211.
