Greg C. Dinant

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Greg C. Dinant, Sr., 65, of Hastings after a motorcycle accident on Thursday, August 13. Born in Baldwinsville to the late Clarence "Frenchy" and Velma Dinant, Greg attended Charles W Baker High School, and was a resident of Hastings for the past 20 years. Greg spent many years as a truck driver and mechanic, and was best known as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was always doing something for someone and will be remembered for his sarcastic jokes ( his "3 P's") and bear hugs.

In addition to his parents, Greg was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Charlene Dinant and his niece, Christine Peer Armstrong.

Greg is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Terri (Smith); sons: Gregory Dinant Jr, Shawn (Lindsay) Dinant, both of Florida, Eric (Kristie) Dinant of Hastings and Cory Dinant of Liverpool; two sisters, Robin Dinant of Baldwinsville and Jacqueline (Rich) Weaver of Brewerton; grandchildren, Kateline, Christian, Mikayla, Kenny, Eric Jr., Nayomi, Keyara, and Jackson who will be arriving in September; and dog Skyla.

As his family and friends mourn his passing, Greg would want us to know that he passed doing something that he loved.

Memorial services will be held at a future date.
