Harry C. Dingman, 82, of Breman Ave. Mattydale, died Sunday at the Sunrise Nursing Home, Oswego. A native of Lacona, Mr. Dingman resided in Mattydale for the past 60 years. Born June 9, 1924, he was the son of the late Earl and Beatrice Taylor Dingman. Harry?s first job was as a Telegraph Operator at the Lacona Depot. After serving with the US Army during WWII, he worked as a truck Driver for 40 years for Teamsters Local #317 in Syracuse until his retirement in 1982. His last assignment was for the Continental Can Co.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #41 in Syracuse and was an avid collector of Rail Road memorabilia.
He was predeceased by two brothers Warren Dingman and Francis Dingman. Surviving are his companion of 32 years Wilma Currier with whom he resided. Two nieces Rev. MaryAnn Dingman and Ted Tomlinson of Van Wert, OH, Carol Dingman and Mike Johnson, of Livermore, CA, two nephews James William Dingman, of Nevada, Don and Cindy Dingman of Las Vegas, NV, a step daughter Carol and Charlie Currier Miles, of Lacona, three step sons James and Ann, Currier, of Orwell, Allan Currier, of Madison WI, John and Tammy Currier of Orwell, numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and a step great great grandson.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday at the Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday at the funeral home.
