James Dirk

James Jim P. Dirk, 50, of Dawns Ridge, Cicero, died Saturday. A native of Syracuse he resided in Cicero since 1980. He was a 1975 graduate of Liverpool High School. and worked for the Carrier Corporation for 27 years. Jim then received an associates degree in business from Bryant & Stranton business school. And has recently started as a school bus driver for the North Syracuse School District.
Jim was member of sacred Heart Roman Catholic church in Cicero and was active many sports activities including bowling, golf, softball, hunting and especially as a coach for the Cicero Falcons Pop-Warner Football.
He was predeceased by his mother Patricia Dirk who died in 1985. Surviving are two children Jennifer L. Dirk of New Woodstock, and James P. Dirk Jr. living at home. A granddaughter Julia Grace Schewe. Also surviving are his father Freeman James Dirk and his step-mother Judy, both of Palermo, three sisters Sandy O?Dwyer, Pamela Dienhoffer and Lisa Cussen all of Liverpool, three brothers Kevin of Camillus, Gary of Florida, and Timothy of Oswego, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and Godchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Thursday at the Krueger Funeral Home. Joint funeral services will be 9 am on Friday at the funeral home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
