Maynard J. Dominic, 81, of Liverpool, died Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014, at home surrounded by his family and friends. A native of Ellenburg, NY, Maynard graduated from Ellenburg Central High School and was one of 13 children born to the late Edward and Emma Dominic.
Maynard retired in 1993 after 27 years with the Central New York Laborers Local #633. He volunteered for 20 years with the Franciscan Northside Ministries primarily with their food pantry and their Tuesday Morning Coffee and Conversation. Maynard was a long time communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Gary and Billy Dominic.
Maynard is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Donna (Cole); a daughter: Beth (Jeff) Porter of Phoenix; his three granddaughters: Emily, Julia, and Lauren Porter; ten siblings: Reginald (Joan) of Syracuse, Antoinette Toohill of Burke, NY, May (Doug) Chaffee of Mattydale, Ray (Maureen) of Phoenix, Roland (Shirley) of Ellenburg, NY, Nancy Wayne of Mattydale, Larry (Valerie) of Mooers Forks, NY, Marylee (Roy) Fonner of Bonaire, GA, Robert of Plattsburgh, NY, and Jane (Anthony) Angello of Green Castle, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in memory of Maynard to the Franciscan Northside Ministries, 804 North Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13208 where he enjoyed volunteering for so many years.
Friends may call on Saturday from 10 - 11 A.M. at St. Margaret's Church, 203 Roxboro Rd., Mattydale. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at church followed by burial in North Syracuse Cemetery.
