Dorothy Spoor

Dorothy “Dottie” Spoor, 92, of North Syracuse, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Elderwood at Birchwood in Liverpool. A native of Syracuse, Dottie resided in California for several years before moving to North Syracuse in 1960. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Joan (Zaleski) Byrns.

Dottie retired in 1995 after more than 20 years as a deli clerk at William’s Grocery Store in North Syracuse. Prior to that, she worked at General Electric. Dottie enjoyed gardening, puzzles, as well as cooking and baking for her family. She played piano and was an accomplished jitterbug dancer. Dottie was an extremely selfless and giving person.

Dottie was predeceased by her two brothers, Robert and Ed Byrns.

She is survived by her two children, Perry (Terry) Whitmore of Fulton and Pamela Whitmore of Liverpool; her two grandchildren, Jennifer Olesh and Krysten Petrilli; and two great grandchildren, Mackenzie Olesh and Logan Petrilli.
