Douglas A. Herrick

Doug Herrick, 65, of Baldwinsville, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025. Born in Oswego, Doug grew up in various locations throughout NY while his family traveled for his late father’s, Rev. Geroge T. Herrick, missionary assignments. Doug was a graduate of Franklin High School in Franklin, NY, and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Tri State University, in Angola, Indiana.

He worked as an over the road truck driver for Gypsum Express for over 10 years. Previously he worked for Tru Green Chem Lawn. Doug was a motorcycle enthusiast and affectionately named his bikes; amongst his favorites were Bubba and Ruby. He loved visiting theme parks, riding roller coasters, and was an avid reader, especially of the Garfield comics and Stephen King books. Doug was a Syracuse University sports fan and Dallas Cowboys fan.

Doug was predeceased by his father. He is survived by his daughter, Krystal (Shawn) Redar of Rochester; his mother, Gladys Herrick of Salisbury, NC; two siblings, Sharon Hassenplug of NC and Kevin (Gwyn) Herrick of IN; and several nieces and nephews including Rebecca Bross and Jennifer Hassenplug.
