Helen Dudek, 93, passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Iroquois Nursing Home. Up until recently, Helen lived independently in her home. She was born in Utica to the late Felix and Sophie Folitarczyk. Helen graduated from high school in Utica. She volunteered as an interpreter/translator for a number of polish immigrants.
In 1949, Helen married Walter Dudek. Walter passed in 2006. Helen moved to Syracuse with Walt around 1952. She was a buyer for Grand Union and a board member for the North Syracuse Library. Helen had a love for books, traveling, gardening, nature walks and her family.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Walter G. Dudek and by a brother, Alfred Folitarczyk.
Helen is survived by her son, Dennis and daughter-in-law, Karen Karoglanian; grandson, Randal Hagen and his wife, Katie and their son, Joseph. Her extended family includes Jane Lebkowski, Kevin Karoglanian, Keith and Andrea Karoglanian and their kids, Caddis and Clover. Helen also had many dear friends that she loved and cared for.

Per Helen’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, 10:00 am, at St. Margaret's Church, 203 Roxboro Road, Mattydale. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, 1500 Champlin Ave., Utica, NY 13502 at 12:30 pm.
