Cecile B. Brunet Dumas, 92, longtime resident of Syracuse, died Thursday at Crouse Hospital. A native of St. Vincent in Alberta, Canada, Cecile had resided on Grant Blvd in Syracuse for many years and was the daughter of the late Cleophas and Ida Adam Brunet.
She was predeceased by her husband, Romeo Dumas, in 1991; a son, Gerald "Gerry" Dumas in 2007; and by six siblings: Judy Young, Alice Howatt, and John, Julien, Lucien and Rolland Brunet.
Cecile leaves behind her daughter: Annette Ponto of Syracuse; a sister: Noela Putnam of North Syracuse; her brother: Ray Brunet of Eastwood; six grandchildren: Jacquelynn Scrimale of Syracuse, Lynette Morey of Marcellus, Jerry Dumas of FL, David Kuss of NC, and Jacob and Matthew Kuss, both of Syracuse; seven great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2-5 pm Sunday at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A funeral service will begin on Monday, 10 am at the funeral home followed by burial in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
