Robert "Bob" F. Elderbroom, 83, a native and long time resident of the Syracuse area, died Tuesday at St. Luke's Health Center in Oswego.
Bob has achieved many accomplishments throughout his life. He served his country in the US Army during WWII, Company A 824th Tank Destroyer BN, and received a bronze star medal. He owned and operated Elderbroom Construction Co., Inc., Floral Park Sales and Mobile Home Park and Fawn Homes, Inc. of Fulton. Robert was a past president of the Home Builders Association of CNY and a past president of the Mobile Home Association of CNY. He was an active member in Three Rivers Gun Club and Imperial Polk Gun Club in Winterhaven, FL and was a founding member in the St. Patrick's Church Historical Society in Highmarket, NY.
Robert was predeceased by his first wife, Elenore Miller Elderbroom in 1991; his son Frank L. Elderbroom in 2002; his brother Francis Elderbroom and sister JoAnne Grove.
He is survived by his wife, Lorena Sova, his son Robert C. Nancy Elderbroom, of Syracuse; his four daughters, Kathleen Gary Kriwox Stever, of Highmarket NY, Susan Thomas Mineker Stafy, of Camillus, Patricia Hopp, of Phoenix, and Bonnie James Williamson Charity, of Syracuse; his step-sons, Robert, David and Frank Sova; his 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. He also leaves behind his three brothers, Kenneth, Leonard Lorraine, and Harvey Nancy; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday from 4-7pm at Krueger Funeral 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Mass will be held Saturday at 9am in Holy Family Church followed by burial in Assumption Cemetery.
