Willard "Bill" G. Emmert, 94, formerly of 109 Edden Lane in North Syracuse, died Thursday, November 3, 2016. Bill was born to the late Harry A. and Mary (Diehl) Emmert in Lehighton, PA, where he graduated from Lehighton High School in 1940. He resided in North Syracuse for 58 years before moving to Cicero in 2005 to live with his son.
Bill was a U.S. Army veteran Serving in Germany with the 78th Infantry Division until his discharge during World War II. During his enlistment, Bill was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He retired in 1982 after 41 years in the Materials Control Dept. of Carrier Corporation in Syracuse. Bill was a 70 year member of the former Centerville and now Memorial Lodge #648 in North Syracuse, the Carrier Retirees, as well as a former Troop Leader of the BSA Troop 67. He was a longtime member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council as President and as an Usher.
Bill was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, the former Betty Smith, in 2005.
Surviving are his two sons and daughters-in-law: Jeffrey K. and Lois A. Emmert of Chelsea, MI, and Eric G. and Debra S. Emmert of Cicero; four grandchildren: Steve Emmert, Bob Craft, Nicole Byrnes, and Meghan Emmert; his eight great grandchildren: Tyler, Jessica, Brandon, Courtney, Madison, Zachary, Abigail, and Aria; and by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Sunday from 1 - 5 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, NY. Funeral Services will be Monday, 1:00 pm, at Luther Memorial Church with entombment following in their Columbarium.
